Chris Adams Shoot Interview Page 2

Very funny story as the Freebirds drank so much Jack Daniels that they had a fireplace mantel covered in empty bottles.  At one point they had no firewood for the fireplace so Buddy Roberts leaped up and jumped onto the coffee table smashing it to pieces then saying "Now we have firewood."  Also Buddy Roberts was nicknamed Jack on account of all the Jack Daniels he drank.  There is another Freebird story that is just as funny and if you get the shoot you'll hear it and not be disappointed.

Chris talks about the magic that WCCW had at creating feuds that would be drawn out to 6 months to a year.   Mentions how the whole locker room would go out to eat after matches and how he and Kerry at one point got mobbed by fans that jumped on their car.

Talks about Kevin Von Erich and how he truly is a "Nature Boy." He would invite Chris over to go shooting, swimming in the lake on his farm, looking for water moccasins.

Goes on to mention his Dynamic Duo tag team partner Gino Hernandez. It was Gino's idea that him and Chris should team up.  Became real close to Gino.  He talks about Gino's Death as he believes it was a overdose. Scotland Yard even investigated Chris believing he had something to do with Gino's death.

Chris is asked what would have happened to his feud with Gino if he lived. They would have kept it going long as possible maybe a year then culminating into a cage match with hair vs. hair

 - Also talks about the suicide/deaths of the Von Erichs and how he feels sad and yet at the same time it being a waste.

Was not happy with Kerry Von Erich's suicide as he hurt the people he left behind and should have stood up and not taken the easy way out.

- In 1986 Chris Adams had the best feeling he ever had in wrestling as he pinned Rick Rude for the WCCW World Title.  When asked to drop the belt to Black Bart on account of Adams having to "go visit someone for awhile" he was not to happy of the choice of Black Bart.

- He began a new start in the UWF working for Bill Watts who he said was a tyrant but respected Chris. Talks about the feud he had with Terry Taylor whom he really liked and remains good friends with.

Also while in the UWF worked with Eddie Gilbert who he said had a great mind.

-Goes on to talk about the NWA purchase of the UWF and how he regretted not staying and missed the boat by leaving.

When he returned to WCCW he felt it was not the same place he left and the magic was gone by 1989

-Mentions so much to cover about wrestling in the indys, going back to WCW for a Starrcade match teaming with Norman Smiley.

Very surreal moment as Chris talks about doing a wrestling tour of Beirut and a fan was shot before the show. Chris rode in the same ambulance the victim was in for an angle. He mentions how it did not feel right riding in the ambulance knowing about the shooting.

-Talks about many different wrestler and managers, promoter mentioning how he felt about them or they perceived Chris.

Kevin Nash was always rude to Chris

Jake Roberts was a very good friend

Gary Hart was the Vincent Price of wrestling and Chris learned so much from him.

Mike Von Erich was pushed into wrestling

David Von Erich and Chris were quite good friends and believes his untimely death was a accidental overdose.

Fritz was a tyrant but was approachable

Kerry was a big Teddy Bear, very funny

Ric Flair taught Chris a lot and really liked him

-Talks about meeting Bischoff and having a try-out match for him

-Working for WCW and the problems that they had near the end and how Chris if given the opportunity could have helped them out.

He still believes he is a viable top star that could give a good effort

Does not understand how WCW cannot see the easy way to fix its problems

-Plugs his website and talks about the wrestling camps he wants to start in 2001

Unfortunately Chris' dreams never lasted as he died in 2000.

This is just a small sample of how much of his life and career is covered.
