Wooooah, is it that time again? Why yes, yes it is; time to take a walk down memory lane with "Big Business," so grab your favorite easy chair, get a frosty beverage, sit back and lets jump in the time machine. Actually I can’t believe that time is moving so fast these days, seems like just yesterday when I was writing last months article for Kayfabe Memories.

So what can ole’ "Big Business" dig out of the memory banks this month to tell you about? I tell you there were a lot of interesting angles we ran during my time at the USWA and watching the creative process was an awesome thing. To see guys like Randy Hales, Eddie Marlin and Jerry "The King" Lawler come up with some of the ideas we ran with from week to week was not only good to see but it was also challenging at times. Mainly because our TV territory was pretty vast and when we ran house shows in certain cities, we would always have to think about what was current on TV and what made sense to the crowd. I’d imagine the WWF has similar issues to deal with but I bet they’re not as bad as they could be, because I know they don’t run as many house shows as they use to. Most of their shows are TV tapings, although they do run an occasional house show here and there.

Life on the road with wrestling, the USWA and actually any type of business gives you a seriously warped sense of reality sometimes. It wasn’t uncommon for any of the boys to not exactly know what day it was, but we could tell you what city and arena we were in and where we were scheduled to go the next night. Unfortunately, that presents a problem when medical professionals have to look at you and evaluate if you’re in your right mind or not.

I remember one time in Memphis, TN at the Mid South Coliseum when we were doing a battle royal as the main event. I was out there with one of my guys; honestly, I can’t remember if it was Tommy Rich or Doug Gilbert, but I’m pretty sure it was Tommy. One of the tag teams participating in the battle royal was PG-13. That’s JC Ice (real name Jamie Dundee, "The Superstar" Bill Dundee’s son) and Wolfie D. Well I was pretty much finished with my spot in the match and was back in the locker room with Tommy, getting dressed and getting ready to hit the road.

Shortly after that, PG-13 comes trouping back to the locker room and they got banged up pretty bad. Jamie got the worst of it; there was blood everywhere. He had lost so much blood that the paramedics were back there in the locker room. They wanted to cart him off to the hospital because he had that "glazed-over look" in his eyes. The problem was he was coherent enough to talk and knew what was going on but I don’t think he was prepared for the questions they were about to ask him.  More...
