Dang, that was SCARY! Let me tell you , folks, I've seen guys go to jail for less than what Wahoo did to others with those chops. Ronnie Garvin was called "The Man with the hands of stone", right? Well, they called Chief Wahoo "the man with the chops of steel"... and with good reason. TO THIS DAY if the FBI ever wanted his finger prints, just go look in any one's chest who got in the ring with him.  They would probably still be there!

In January of 1993, I had the pleasure to meet Wahoo in Fayetteville, NC at the Cumberland County Memorial Arena. He was working a Sunday afternoon show against Greg Valentine. Wahoo was an ultra professional, but the obvious disappointment about the crowd was in his eyes and his voice. Seeing a hundred or so people in a five thousand seat venue to watch a legend do what made him great was tragic. I approached him for an autographed picture, which he gladly signed. We spoke for a few minutes, and he mentioned to me what good days he had in JCP and Florida. When I asked him about the card that afternoon, he just looked out to the empty stands and said something to the effect of "No one cares anymore..."

In the old days, Wahoo would work shows with thousands of fans screaming his name. Wahoo McDaniel WAS somebody. Wahoo McDaniel STILL IS somebody... to me at least AND to everyone who had the pleasure to know him and work with him as well. You workers in the WWF... count the money on your guaranteed money contract and enjoy the nice rental cars and enjoy the paid for hotel rooms and air fare. And you remember one thing... if it weren't for guys like Wahoo McDaniel, A LEGITIMATE LEGEND, you wouldn't have ANY of it. Not a damn bit!

What do you folks think guys like Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler talked about on their way to RAW last Monday night? Probably the death of a hero, a legend, and an all around heck of a guy... just like we all at Kayfabe Memories have done for the last ten days or so...

"Everybody's gone away
Said they're movin to L.A.
There's not a soul I know around
Everybody's leavin town

Some caught a freight some caught a plane
Find the sunshine leave the rain
They said this town will waste your time

I guess they're right, it's wasted mine
Some gotta win, some gotta lose
Goodtime Charlie's got the blues... "
