CWF #3 Page #2

The Midnight Rider bid farewell to all his buckaroos soon after his match and said that all of his work had been done. Strangely enough, it was around the same time that Dusty Rhodes’ suspension had been lifted. Dusty then came back to the scene. He was confronted about the Midnight Rider and claimed to be friends with him. He said that to prove to the world that he was not the Midnight Rider, he would call on him to second him in a match. Not just any match, but a world title match against Ric Flair.

Everyone in the state of Florida and in fact all over the wrestling world was very anxious to see the two stars together. The Midnight Rider did appear with Dusty Rhodes, but obviously not the same Midnight Rider who competed for CWF. Actually, the Midnight Rider would appear differently from the one escorting Dusty Rhodes to the ring and the one escorting him back to the dressing room. Unfortunately, Dusty lost the match. But the real mystery still revolves around the identity of the Midnight Rider. Who was the real Midnight Rider? Does anyone really know?

On a personal note, I would like to dedicate this month’s edition of CWF to the greatest announcer of all time - the late Gordon Solie. Thank you for the memories you have given all of us. R.I.P. "Dean."

NEXT MONTH:

The heel turn of a member of the "family"…. Ron Bass.
